I  have been a public speaker for many years. As the owner of several bookstores, I've often discussed books on live radio. I've taught French as a second language to adults and children, and through my experiences with Toastmasters International I have given speeches and acted as master of ceremonies for various events and audiences. I began speaking professionally in November, 2000.

I am focusing more and more on the topic of fear in my conferences and workshops. My first audiences were women in community centres and people enrolled in programs to re-enter the work force. Gradually, requests came from the private sector, businesses and the general public. Below are two examples of possible workshops.

Fear, the Double-Edged Sword

Since fear is a fact of life common to everyone, learning to use it as an ally is crucial. Rather than letting fear prevent us from fully realizing our potential and living our dreams, we can use it to better know ourselves and even as a measure of our personal growth.

For years, Charlotte Boulanger had direct personal experience of the devastating power of unacknowledged fear, at great expense to her quality of life. As a result of this experience, she speaks with passionate insight about what she has learned on the subject and the tools she has discovered that can transform it from a liability into an asset.

Fear, the Double-Edged Sword can be a conference with or without audience participation, or a workshop.

Speak Up – You Can't Afford to be Silent

Each of us has something to communicate. Our perceptions can make a difference to a group of listeners. Unfortunately, for many people the fear of speaking in public buries many valuable opinions, insights and suggestions.

This mini-series of practical workshops eases participants into becoming comfortable speaking in front of others. It introduces the basic elements of a short speech or presentation in order to attain a specific objective, that of informing, praising, convincing, inspiring or rallying. As well, various techniques to help control nervousness are practiced.
